How To Understand The Cause Of Cylinder Head Oil Leakage?

Slight oil leakage from the engine cylinder head will not cause much impact on the engine, because removing the cylinder head cover only requires removing three fastening screws and replacing it with new parts. However, if the engine cylinder head oil leaks seriously, it may cause insufficient oil and damage the engine. In addition, due to the continuous leakage of engine oil, the oil in the fuel tank is not up to the standard. The owner needs to refuel frequently and continuously during driving, which may affect the mood of the owner and affect driving safety.

The reasons for the cylinder head oil leakage are as follows:

1. Oil leakage from the valve cover, oil leakage from the engine timing cover, loose or damaged oil drain screw in the oil pan;

The solution:

If the oil leakage is caused by poor valve cover sealing performance, the valve cover gasket should be replaced.

If the engine timing cover leaks oil, it needs to be disassembled and replaced and the glue should be reapplied.

If the drain screw of the oil pan is loose or damaged, just tighten the drain screw or replace it.

2. If the oil drain screw gasket is not replaced for a long time, oil leakage will occur due to poor sealing, oil filter oil leakage, car engine oil pan oil leakage, crankshaft oil leakage oil seal.

The solution:

If the gasket of the oil drain screw is not replaced for a long time, it will cause poor sealing and oil leakage, and the gasket needs to be replaced. It is best to replace the gaskets on time according to the maintenance interval.

The oil filter is leaking oil. When the oil filter is installed too loose or too tight, or an unqualified oil filter is used, a new one needs to be replaced.

The oil pan of the engine leaks oil or the cylinder block is broken, and the gasket of the oil pan is aged. To remove and replace the oil pan, replace the gasket and reapply the adhesive.

How to get the cylinder head bolt broken?

Approach:

1. The bolt extractor uses a small electric drill to drill a small hole on the surface of the broken bolt, and then takes out the broken bolt with an inverted tooth tap.

2. If the cone is broken, first drop a few drops of engine oil or kerosene. If not, you can use sour vinegar and cola instead. It's best to wait a few minutes after dripping to allow the breaker cones to corrode and lubricate a bit. The broken cone is then removed by tapping it gently with a small copper rod. Finally, use the needle-nose pliers to pad the thin steel paper, and twist it back and forth gently until it is twisted out.

3. If it is troublesome to break the bolt, you can also consider welding a nut on the head of the broken bolt by electric welding. Take care not to burn the bolt hole teeth when welding. After the nut is cooled, the broken bolt can be unscrewed.

If the broken bolt is not broken, but very shallow, you can use a cutting grinder to grind the surface of the cylinder slightly until the broken bolt head is exposed. After the broken bolts are removed in three ways, the surface layer of the cylinder block that has just been polished is repaired by replacing the metal repair agent to make the surface smooth.
